Welcome to the Eighth December Association - 161 Years!

On 8 December 1865, the Eighth December Association was founded in Jönköping. The formation was inspired by the country's new representation system, which meant a democratization of the old estate parliament.

Originally, the Eighth December Association was a support association that provided assistance to its members in various ways. Nowadays, some outreach support activities are conducted, providing assistance to local non-profit organizations, for example.

The association currently has 36 members and meets four times a year with the annual meeting on the eighth of December.

The association's symbol is a candle, the first candle of Advent.
